Doesn't matter that we took him off that boat, Shepherd, it's the place he's going to live from now on.

Compassionately intolerant

Waiting for the comcast person to come and shift me out of my 13 year relationship with Verizon. Never loved the big V, to be honest. Felt pretty misused, in fact. But still, I'm nervous. Will the new guy actually respect me? Be there for me, without all the static? Seriously, I feel like I'm leaving an abusive relationship by risking another.

Plus, my on the side thing with Thunderbird is bumming me out. Can't figure out how to save my email to the hard drive. Will all the memories be lost?

Sigh.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

OK, there's a certain basic bit of info about passenger trains that some people don't understand. See, some passenger trains are express trains, which means they might go right past a station without stopping. Every so often, people get killed because they don't know this and try to cross the tracks in front of a train. Here's an article:

Video shows woman, goddaughter killed by train

Thee video is freaky. You don't actually see the woman and baby get killed - they just disappear from the picture. What's especially freaky is the whole time you see the woman in the frame, she doesn't look at the train once.

Here's the actual video: Metra surveillance video from 3/13/2010 accident

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Last night I drove over to a friend's who had a space heater I could borrow, so we've got three now, and the roommate procured electric blankets, so the prospects for the rest of March and April's comfort can be looking up.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And it's going to be 70 this weekend!!

Hell, it's probably going to get within shouting distance of 70 today.

I guess I should be grateful that my furnace held out as long as it did.

Definitely better now than two months ago, if it had to die.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

snagged one of the Liberty of London dresses from Target yesterday

Kat, I was debating getting that one, but I wasn't sure if the belt thing would drive me nuts. Is it heavy, or just there?

OOH, today's Groupon for SF is half off Ben & Jerry's (Haight Ashbury location only), and it mentions that if you go there on 3/23, you can get a free scoop.

Too bad I will be in Vegas.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Gronklies...

I am tired today and it's going to be a looong day. The kids are extra spazzy because today is the last day before spring break. We have parent-teacher conferences tonight until 8:30 which means I won't get home till 9:30 at the earliest. And, we have more p-t conferences at 7:30 tomorrow morning. Not looking forward to today.

It's a ruffle, and just there. My Target was well stocked in the women's stuff, but I didn't end up buying anything since I have an old fogey attitude about showing my bra straps and almost everything is held up by those wee spaghetti straps.

The baby stuff was all gone, but for a few bathing suits.
