And the thing is, I like my evil like I like my men: evil. You know, straight up, black hat, tied to the train tracks, soon my electro-ray will destroy metropolis BAD.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Sophia, our president had hired an assistant (her first job ever) who got sick and then just didn't turn up. For about a week. She didn't answer her phone or return messages left.

The president announced that, legally, this is considered job abandonment and replaced her.

Can you do something like this?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Yikes, Marion Cotillard gets stabbed by culture minister as he's afixing a pin to her blouse.

Note to Self: Wear blazer when receiving Croix de Guerre.

Coding and Sleeping

They did Muppet Madness all wrong. All the conferences are concentrated into one regional. Not only does that make the Muppet Show regional ridiculously loaded, but they really should have gotten more bids. Look at all those At-Large entries in the "Rest" bracket, almost done of them deserve a bid. Look at Kermit, they have a one seed going against Gonzo in the first round. The Show conference got ripped big time by the selection committee.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I looked through the student employment handbook and it sounds like you should go: 1. verbal warning (which she has had, although I don't know that anyone has told her officially it is a verbal warning) 2. written warning 3. firing, unless the incident is egregious. They also suggest (which I didn't do because of course this is my first time) having the student read and sign a paper saying that they understand that things like coming to work on time and dressing appropriately are expected, and exactly what the consequences will be.

I feel like that process will take until the time she is going to be done anyway.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Have you tried working it out with her in-thread, Sophia?

Hee. I wish we could put it to a vote. My boss is mad at her, too, but she strongly believes that things will work them selves out. On the other hand, I tend to be non-confrontational and just work around things. So not a good combo right now!

It won't work out. She will suck you dry. Cut her off now. End it, end it, end it.

And, no, I don't know where that is coming from, except my SQL query was bad and it's too late to fix the output dump before the vendor comes into town.

Oops.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.
