I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

oh right, exercise. I haven't done that in almost a year.

it's on the list for things to try to add back into my life post-move. I am not optimistic though.

I have been only going to my private karate classes, not the group classes, which are usually more of a workout. Stoooopid reoccurring sinus infections.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

they are collecting supplies and stuff

How are they planning to get it there?

Mostly I'm going to take the word of people fronting charities that say send money not stuff. It's just so much simpler. Like you say--what do we know?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

How are they planning to get it there?

Yeah, I don't know. And then what? I mean, seriously. I have been on the receiving end of many a crappy in-kind donation.

Our wings are not tired.

Yep, money is what they need all right.

Alright?

(No wonder peeps just say "aight" and be done with it!)

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Oh, word, Jesse.

We used to get donations of smelly, dirty torn clothing, out of date MEAT, toasters that didn't work, all kinds of stuff.

I mean, it's lovely that people want to help, but there's a hella diff between second-hand and "shit you should throw out but are trying to get a tax break on your trash."

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

You know why? Because people will give away crap and think they are helping. Effing people. Just send money! Let the agencies buy what they need, when they need it!

Did you see this article? [link] It is eye-opening about how little crap helps:

If you’re considering doing your part, that’s great. But, experts say, whatever you do, don’t donate anything but money. Under no circumstances should you mail care packages, toys, food or clothes. Don’t even think about sending drugs. The response to prior disasters shows that regardless of your intentions, you will only be making matters worse.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

In other news, I just got a down coat for half price. I have really given in this winter. Snow boots and a puffer coat! But my everyday wool coat really is only good at 30+.

Yeah, bon -- I linked that article in my friend's comments.

My dad gave me his puffy down coat a couple of years ago when I was riding the bus to work. It's old and too big for me, but man, I have been happy to have it this winter.
