Doesn't black polish almost look better chipped, anyway?

Did your boss think it sucked all 100 times before, Jesse?
Hmm. Coworker I snark with is working from home today. ::selfish pout::

See, Barb? I'm glad you went. I can't imagine you being shy in the first place, to be honest.
Yes, definitely glad I went. As for the shy thing, it's relative. I'm not shy if I know people, but going into a situation for the first time is always stressful for me. My first RWA conference, even though it was a little bitty chapter conference, I was petrified, because I knew no one and I went by myself and I'm not one of those people who can just walk up to others and introduce myself and insinuate myself into conversations.
Even yesterday, while we were just sitting around and chatting, the friend I went with observed, "You know, the older folks tend to come and sit beside you-- I think it's the air of calm and reserve that you project."
Which, okay-- calm and reserve is at least a step up from "come too close and I'll cut you," which has historically been my usual default. Still means the cute guys don't come sit near me, but like I said, it appears to be an improvement.
I put an anteater somewhere on this board, and it is not here!
It was in Non-Fiction, Sophia.

She wouldn't have seen it 98 of them. And I'm not convinced she's read it yet!
Alert: we have an anteater loose on the board! Repeat, anteater loose! Be on the alert, and remain calm....
I just saw an anteater walk by...
ION, in response to the MIssissippi high school that cancelled prom rather than allow a lesbian couple to attend, the Web site Autostraddle has a gallery of lesbian couples at their proms, and they are sooooo adorable: [link]
Oh dear! Thread fail!
The effort of suppressing "an anteater bit my sister" is making me tear up, so I'm just putting it out there.
I'm not convinced she's read it yet!
Oy.
I had a document review scheduled to go with my boss Friday and he actually looked at the document beforehand (he's notorious for being days behind on email, but he read this one within an hour of receipt) and I ended up cancelling the review because of all the formatting and additions he wanted. It will never be complete.
Apparently the time change broke our work voicemail and they have to replace hardware. The mind boggles.

Awww. But that makes me feel old - back in my day, if you were gay and in high school, you stayed closeted until college.
