How do stupid, impatient people manage to run businesses? They can't keep track of what they're doing and get all fluttery, and I have to use Stern Voice to get them back on track. The supervisors don't like it when I pull out Stern Voice, but it's better than some idiot going all drama queen on me, which gets judged as "losing control of the call."
Maybe they all have someone capable of using a Get Back On Track Voice on them in their offices.
It's always amusing when an evaluation comes back with an extra note of "I'm amazed you kept your cool with that person."
I was nearly hit by a bus that did not yield coming around a corner...
Damn.
I was almost hit by a cable car in San Francisco. I was crossing the street and the cable car had a stop sign. Yeah, it didn't stop.
Then after it almost hit me, I looked at the stop sign. It had a smaller sign below it saying, "Except Cable Cars." It was impossible for me to see that sign from where I was when I began to cross the street.
When my brother was 3, he ran in between 2 parked cars to cross the street. He ended up running into the side of a van that was driving down the street. He got thrown back about 6 feet and broke his leg and collar bone. The driver never stopped and took off.

That reminds that the first day I was in Boston for freshman orientation, I almost got hit by a trolley. I was crossing a busy street, paying careful attention to the cars, but completely spaced on looking out for trains. I started to cross the tracks and got a huge blast of the horn. Jumped back just in time too. That would have put a damper on my college career.
And while I go to the gym, it's only 3-4 times a week
Oh, ONLY 3-4 times a week? You fucking slacker!

kind of silvery blue violet, but it keeps changing ... and in sunlight it's almost a champagne color.
::Rushes out to search for this color::
I had a cousin who was killed by a bus that ran a poorly signed intersection. Maybe if it had been on its regular route it would have known to stop, but it was running parallel to its route, racing another bus. He made the news every day for a week--there was a demonstration in his name and the Minister of Transportation came to his funeral. I still think the whole family is in shock, more than fifteen years later.
