I'm not sure how old he is, but I heard him use the word 'newfangled' one time, so he's gotta be pretty far gone.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I wouldn't do it, today (maybe), but in the bad old days of anything goes in the military, when I worked second shift (2-10pm) we would launch the planes and then hustle our asses down to the park where the beer was, drink our fill until we saw our planes in the landing pattern and then haul ass back up to the flight line to recover said planes and make any repairs necessary before retiring to the park for the evening with more beer. Topgun was a bunch of hard drinking SOBs.

Just remembered I wanted to share my bad dreams from last night with you all. The first was an epic battle with my dad, not sure over what, lots of screaming. The second, which actually woke me up (long enough to remember both dreams) was Michael Clarke Duncan physically threatening me in some situation where I was basically in captivity. I was followed closely if I left a building adn some event we were at, Duncan stood behind me with his hands around my neck. so not sleep helpful.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Thanks tommy--post marked.

Michael Clarke Duncan? Sheesh, msbelle. Way to pull out the big guns, after a screaming fight no less.

I dream about work just about every night. What a waste.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Scary dreams! I can`t remember if I told this here or not but my last serious nightmare, I`d been abducted and was going to be killed in two days. But the entire dream? Was me working out how I was going to go to the bathroom and get a shower. I was totally unconcerned about the captivity and impending doom. Just worried about hygiene. A classic from my file of mundane dreams. At least it was better than the standing in line at the post office one.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Drinking in the workplace: The Japanese company, where I spent most of my working for the man years, just before I got there had just cut off its substance consumption policies. Apparently they just quit smoking at their desks and regularly bringing in mass quantities of beer for the parking lot during the work day. Yeah, I have no idea but they were a very successful company.

I wish they would move Chuck. Monday's at 8 has too much good TV already.
