Look, you got a little stabbed the other day. That's bound to make anyone a mite ornery.

Jesse, you can't stop reading Gothamist, just because you move.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

When I started working here back in '92, the guy who was the head of the department had retired a few months before. So, I never worked with (met him a few times when he'd pop in for shareholder meetings), but boy, did I hear stories! Mostly about how, if you wanted to ask him something and you wanted him to remember you asking him, you made sure to do so before lunch. After lunch, he'd be more likely soused or at his desk sleeping it off.

Wait -- Harold Ford is running for Senate from New York? WTF.

I read this as Harrison Ford and was even more WTF.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Apparently not! Although I do have my own Senate election next week to worry about...

Seriously, Harold Ford???

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I was raised by old school Methodists. This has been a hindrance in fully engaging in drinking culture—one I'm trying hard to overcome. Still, I'd draw a line on having a bar in my office, as I barely keep from saying potentially career-ending things sober some days.

Also, I learned why my blanket was supposed to be dry cleaned -- some of the colors ran. At least I don't really care about that!

I'm on HBP meds, so I probably won't be able to give.

You can give blood if you're on HBP meds. At the time of donation, your BP just needs to be below 180 systolic and below 100 diastolic.

My blood pressure was perfectly fine last night! I probably should have rescheduled until after lunch, though. Mornings are my nemeses.

My problem with drinking at work is the nap factor.

So much this. I used to occasionally have a beer or two when I went out to lunch with (non-work) friends, but the afternoon crash was too much to deal with.

Am I going to regret Googling Harold Ford, as I have no idea who he is?

Hall plans to attend Sunday's Golden Globe awards and the upcoming Screen Actors Guild ceremony with his wife, actress Jennifer Carpenter, who plays his sister on Showtime's "Dexter."

I DID NOT know that.

The news story is because they released today that he is getting treatment for cancer that is in remission.
