Hec, are you watching Caprica?
No. Does it have Zeppelins?
You know the movie line that most often comes to me with various fannish obsessions is from the salesman in
Joe vs. the Volcano
who has a zealot's glee in pushing the high end traveling trunks: "Luggage is the central pre-occuption of my life."
No. Does it have Zeppelins?
Yes! There was this one huge Zeppelin with big guns, and fighters it could launch. But it only exists in a virtual world.
(The Zeppelin had nothing to do with any plot point.)
You can see the Zeppelin for a second or two, at about 42 seconds into this: [link]
I believe we've see far-off zeppelin-like objects in the real Caprican world, too.
Just watched a really fabulous thing on the Sundance channel about the business end of the red carpet. It started out all gauzy and E! like and then they totally drilled down into how much of a big business it is. Like how some actresses are paid a quarter of a million dollars to wear a dress at the Oscars. And how Scarlett Johannsen's stardom was created by contracts with fashion houses, which at the same time is maintaining Sharon Stone, who doesn't actually act. And how Nicole Kidman made $12m for a commercial for Chanel! It's this whole completely cynical thing to sell perfume, it's amazing. Anyway, I recommend it, it's called "The Red Carpet Issue."
Timelies all!
Trying to type around a cat who is intent on attacking my earrings.
Came home early (migraine crisis). Found a pay-up-or-else notice on my apartment door. Turns out my new apartment manager is the sort of guy who'll put up that notice on a Monday but not have checked his drop box since the Friday before. Great.
At least he apologised and said he'd tell them I dropped the check off only 4 days late.
Ooh, that sounds good, bon.
And that sounds annoying, ita.
A Russian site with tons of pictures of an Ekranoplan
that is one ugly aircraft! It's almost steampunk!
Congrats, msbelle! I hope the rest is smooth sailing, cos you could use some of that in your life!
