I'm not sure how old he is, but I heard him use the word 'newfangled' one time, so he's gotta be pretty far gone.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Wait. I just saw an ad for something called "Sloungewear." Did we forget to copyright that one, too?

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

We don't, but our friends Geri and Ryan do. It's not that bad of a drive, really. It would have to be a Saturday, but being central means easy access to highways. I had a friend out in Hurst, and made the drive more than once.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

My parents used to make me sit in the middle of the room with my hands folded. I wasn't allowed to read or draw or sleep. Boring! I mean, I still daydreamed, but boring!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

With some kids that's easier said than done. The preschool age son of one of my former bosses accidentally broke one of his shiny new toys in half on Christmas morning and gleefully proclaimed "Now me have two!"

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, I do have you over there, java. I'm fatou_dust on flickr.

Yeah, I always got punished into the room with all my awesome stuff and by stuff I mean books. Fortunately I was the sort of child who felt the woe and shame of the punishment sufficiently without the actual privation.
