If I break it down I think maybe it's high, but not too bad:
$200 - room
$100 - food
$65 per - classes - my guess is I would avg 3/day
$495 would be my baseline - $100 off.

Speaking of, is $600/day for room, 3 meals, and some activities (but NOT spa services) decent?
That seems cheap if it's a place known for good food. IIRC, Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires was way more than that. And I recently checked the Inn at Blackberry Farm in the Smokies and it was more than double that.

But it's right by Dollywood! That's worth something.
Dude, someday I will go to Dollywood and it will be epic.
Ok, I think I have a frontrunner then - 2011 spa long weekend. I shall start saving.
I can't even begin to get started about the futility of a third world country depending on tourism as a source of foreign income. We're hosed that way, and we're pretty good at it.
New Orleans is pretty good at tourism, too. Bottom line -- Jobs, often seasonal, pay generally not too good.
I feel like I should own something with a houndstooth pattern. I have argyle socks, but no houndstooth.
Question for them that know Vegas - what hotels are super close to ceasar's palace? Like, next door and not as expensive.

In the late '60s you could buy a Mercury Cougar with a houndstooth vinyl roof.

Also drawing on the New Orleans comparison, lots of resources are deployed to keep the tourists safe and happy. Residents? Eh.

TI is pretty close. I think Bally's is close. Right next door is The Mirage.
