"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

HA! Liese, that's like my grandfather who named his two puppies "Wot" and "Huh". You can imagine the confusion. But grandpa liked the confusion.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Many years ago I was a temp at a small music-industry manager. He was in fact John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band's manager (they're the guys who did the music for Eddie & the Cruisers). And I had a script for answering the phone. It was:

Arnold Palmer Management Agency, Good Afternoon, this is Consuela Speaking. Can I help you please?

Every. Frelling. Time. the phone rang. It was crazy. Also, these guys made me pick up their dry-cleaning. When I left, I didn't even get a free cassette of the new album. Jerks.

I am wiling away my afternoon watching season 1 of SG-1 on Hulu. It's kind of fun.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I love those little stuffed Alien face huggers.

I took the kids to the YMCA for their swim lessons this afternoon. I walked into the Men's dressing room just as Owen was asking, "Mom, why are we going into the Men's Room?" Literate Five Year Old, 1, Oblivious, Exhausted Mommy, Nil.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Kat! Loved seeing the pictures of Gracie. Wish I could have seen her in person, but given that I am STILL hacking up phlegm, I think skipping the visit was the wisest choice.

Got through today's office hours courtesy of 2 12-oz cups of tea and 1 12-oz cup of coffee. Oy.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Wow, using his own voice! That is brilliant.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

A morning news item for the Buffistas: [link] High speed chase. Involving a pink Mercury Grand Marquis. With Hello Kitty plates.

I have an alibi!!!! The fact that her name is literally "Lightning" is neither here nor there.

********

Fewer. That's what you use for discrete items.

Which means you would use "less" with Hiltons, Spellings, and Kardashians.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I answer the phone at work with 'Hello". Then again, it is a direct line.
