I loved Kimba the White Lion - used to watch it everyday after school. Also: Astro Boy, Marine Boy and Prince Planet. And Fury, King of the Mustangs.
Matt and Tom got it in one--or, two. The ones I was remembering were Battle of the Planets and Starblazers. But Astro Boy was even earlier than Speed Racer, wasn't it?
Voltron must have been later. (grins at Burrell) and yes, I can hear the space-battle vocal noises, still.
