He thought up the site during a discussion on Buffistas.org, a community of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" enthusiasts, a group of whom became the first tropers.
At least it's not a link, is it?
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, pandas, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

GUS, WE SEE YOU.
Should we consider blocking registration for a couple of days?
Or maybe that's a little paranoid? The article went up yesterday and there hasn't been some sort of deluge.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about it. So funny to me that I saw the story linked by someone totally unconnected to buffistas, though.

Also, Fast Eddie is indeed from Wisconsin. Heh.
That is funny.
Really, how much of a draw would "Buffy the Vampire Slayer enthusiasts" be to the general public in 2010? They probably assume the site is long gone.
But that's true, right? And it's pretty much what was said in the io9 article too?
It's true if Fast Eddie is Gus (which he is/was), and it wasn't a group of three people who were all Buffistas (which it wasn't).
Timelies all!
That story will. not. go. away, will it?
Also, I want Thin Mints.
