So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

The best thing about 30 Rock? It has been available via Netflix streaming. Yay, streaming!

Okay, I only watched The IT Crowd because Ple requested it at Yuletide but the episode I just watched ("The Work Outing") was freakin' hilarious.

And that's from one of the less hilarious seasons!

Occasionally, when watching The IT Crowd, which I do at least once yearly, at times more, I wind up struck by what a pretty, pretty, pretty man Richard Ayoade is. Because, damn. He's beautiful.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

It's worth posting the video how Letterman, Conan, Kimmel and Ferguson all completely and hilariously tore the fuck out of NBC/Leno tonight: [link]

Our wings are not tired.

Lots of healing ~ma for Alex and his GF. Transplants are an awesome thing.

Yay Epic! I'm glad to hear your mom is finally home.

The late night stuff is so very entertaining.

Early morning reports out of Haiti are very grim. A lot of the Haitian kids I know are here living with various extended family members because their parents sent the kids here. DH was texting with his boys all night.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Yeah, it sounds like not only was there wide devastation, but the capitol got hit the hardest, killing far too many government workers, which means that recovery efforts are going to be even more screwed up.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

oh good lord, we have visitors from head office and vendor's head office in today - end of next and my boss is already yelling at people and bumbing his chest against excuses he expects to be given. He sees everything as people unjustly blaming us/him for their ineptitude. EVERYTHING. so much do not want.

ION, I wore more make-up today than I've worn in months, also a dragonfly broach that matches my drop earring. They are both in green and purple/amythyst stones, and they were both my grandmother's.

Summation - He can't take my joy.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Ooooh! The jewelry sounds very pretty. I put earrings in for the first time in a while and ouch. I need to find my pearls so I can just put them in a for a while and leave them.

I am exhuastamalated but it is has rained. YAY rain.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

It's interesting that critics have argued that it took the show a while to find its footing because it's very funny from the get-go.

The original (never-aired) pilot was...not. It's unfortunate because by the time the show got to broadcast, they'd made such vast improvements, but critics who were reviewing the show for fall preview issues didn't get to see that version. It's not that critics just didn't "get it" - it's that the pilot they were shown was really not very good.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The only footing that needed to be found, I think, was in Jenna's character, when they re-cast.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

There were also pacing issues. Mostly what I remember from the unaired pilot was that the timing was just off enough to make it uncomfortable instead of funny. It was right in the uncanny valley of humor.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I watched five or six episodes of 30 Rock. Tracy Morgan kept appearing. I gave up.
