It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

That's pretty cool. The more crime tv I watch, the less I think I can actually do criminal defense again-- it's a lot easier when your client shouldn't go to jail.

ita, did you already look at the list of participating barbershops?

I don't see SM but I do see a Venice shop.

It's all about context. Though people bitch about the criminal justice system and all its flaws it is interested in more than the cut and dried illegality and is looking for a glimmer that somebody is redeemable.

The current case I'm working on involves a fairly horrific crime but the defendants are more doofy than malign.

It all unfolds with this horrible inevitability but there's less actual evil than you'd expect.

What happened to French Guiana?

French Guiana is not independent. It is a department of France, like Martinique or Guadeloupe (or Savoie, Loire, or Paris for that matter).

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The last barber Hec linked to was on the West LA section of that page, Kristen, and I just made an online appointment for Saturday. So it's a deal, until I back out.

And, dammit, I want to participate in some sort of limited game night even if my head is bleeding out my ears.

Maybe the game could involve dimming the lights and cutting your hair.

Paris is a department of France?

Yes. Number 75. It used to be Seine, but then that was broken up to create departments 91-95, and Paris kept the original number (Fr. departments are numbered alphabetically and kids used to have to memorize them back in the day). These numbers are also the first two digits in zip codes.

Obscure music fact of the day: Lots of French rap songs talk about living in the 93 (like area codes are used here), because that is essentially the Paris hood.

Okay, I only watched The IT Crowd because Ple requested it at Yuletide but the episode I just watched ("The Work Outing") was freakin' hilarious.

Sure, Gay! a Gay Musical was good (with songs like: "I'm a Friend of Dorothy" and "I Love Willies") but that wasn't even close to the funniest part.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Also, on the bon/comedy front: we have borrowed 30 Rock S1 from P-Cow and it makes JZ laugh like a highly amused person.

Me also.

It's interesting that critics have argued that it took the show a while to find its footing because it's very funny from the get-go.
