Oh, I wish those council guys would let me have an hour alone in the room with her, if I was larger and had grenades.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Poor Lewis, though, he hates just aimlessly going with no destination in mind--he wants to know he's going somewhere to do something. I suggested we drive to Edmonds and he was like, "Why?"

"Because you took my hammer, and now I own you."

Matilda climbed over everything while we snacked on a lovely indoor picnic of baguette and cheese and salami and olives and hummus. She conked out and we played the game Ticket to Ride which was much fun. The last time we had played it was with Scola, so we spoke of his skill as a railroad baron.

Ticket to Ride is a great social game, especially with four people. I'm a little burnt out on it now, but it's well designed. I recommend getting the 1910 expansion - it's better balanced with the extra routes and with a "Most routes completed" bonus.

After spending 3 hours in Urgent Care this morning, turns out that both Emeline and I have strep. Mine is pretty bad. Like, my tonsils are touching bad. Pain so bad I haven't eaten or slept in two days and the very nice doctor gave me Vicodin and mega-ibuprofren.

Oh, yuck. I hope you're both better soon.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Do your tonsils look like Kermit eyes, Aims? And you haven't collapsed semicomatose into bed from lack of sleep? Poor Aims. I hope the drugs do their job well and quickly.

I wouldn't be awake long enough to be bored.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Thanks. Em's doing better than her mother, for sure. My fever has gotten up to about 102, whereas Em's has stayed below 100. I know that getting chiken pox as an adult is a lot harder to handle, but I wonder if that true for most "childhood" illnesses cause damn this strep has knocked me the eff out.

Heh. We also talked about (a) that you liked it and (b) Raq did not. So Buffistas were with us as we played.

I need to play it more often than once every two years because if I remembered the rules better I wouldn't have taken that extra 11 pt. ticket that I had to eat. And I would have come in second.

I'm still in bed and have been since Thursday at 7:30pm. I've napped on and off today since getting the lovely meds, so I'm doing pretty ok.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm sorry, Aims. I hope the meds kick the strep for you and Em quickly.

Yuck, Aimee. I hope you and Em get well soon.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh Aimee, my memory is that strep is an unpleasant bear no matter what your age.
