Excuse me? Who gave you permission to exist?

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The status is NOT quo.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

OMG, Barb, that cover is gorgeous! I would buy that book even if I knew nothing about it, just because of the cover, and I'm not even kidding.

Me too!

Barb, I just added you as a flickr contact--would've the other night, but I was reading on the iPhone and it seemed a bit of a hassle. :)

Am now at the library, attempting to figure out just how much of a PITA this whole nonprofit of mine is going to be. We are a mess. And the question becomes, CAN we file for nonprofit status? How much tangle are our finances in? Are we supposed ot have been filing taxes for the past several years and haven't been (which is my fear)?

I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.

I've helped a number of non-profit organizations go through the tax process - it is a bit time consuming for the participants but pretty straightforward. I'd be happy to answer questions you may have (or at least direct you to the right form) - profile addy is good.

The status is NOT quo.

Sigh.

You know what's depressing? Coming down off the high of getting married and having a huge party and facing the reality of the debt remaining. We were able to pay for the wedding/reception/honeymoon and only went a few thousand further into debt, which isn't bad, but that was a whole lot of money we weren't able to put towards existing credit cards, which are huge. I hate playing the credit card shuffle game, and yet sometimes I feel like I'll be playing it the rest of my life.

Sorry, brief moment of self-pity. I know we have it really good compared to many--at least we're both employed full time. It's just depressing to not have gotten a raise in five years and feeling like I'm treading water (and sometimes slipping under).

Thrive to spite them

My SIL just won a photography contest, first place for the Wedding Photography Directory's 2009 Creative Wedding Photography contest -- [link]

It's a cool picture.

And in sil news my Ex SIL friend requested me on Facebook, which is weird. I declined.

Finally Barb I love the cover it's amazing.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

The cover is gorgeous, Barb. I predict a happy ending for this book's convoluted journey.

My next door neighbor is keeping her brother's dogs for a month. Mr Peabody is overwhelmed with excitement. He has insisted on going out about eleventy hundred times. It's very wet outside, so every time he comes back in, he adds to the layers of muddy footprints. He and the husky are playing "let's race up and down the fence" and "let's touch noses."

An exhausted dog is a well behaved dog.

Mine, on the other hand, has not gotten her afternoon run today because I am at work and my DH cannot take dog and baby out in the snow. I fear for our slippers.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I hear you, Pix. We are doing the same dance. This time of year is the property tax dance ( last on time payment dates in Dec and Apri) I know that when our income taxes refunds come in, we will have next years property taxes in the bank. but meanwhile I am looking at less than ideal number in the saving account. And if we could get the CC paid off I can see a better place for us.

so I can see the light, but it is just far enough away that I can't find the path. Which is why I was asking meara so many questions about MINT
