billytea, please tell me you evicted it with prejudice (meaning at the bottom of a heavy boot).
Pretty much. Redbacks aren't aggressive - you pretty much need to shove a finger into their nest to get bitten, and even then with their relatively weak fangs, you'll most likely be unharmed - but it's still not a risk we're willing to take with a nearly mobile baby in the house.
Nasty evil spider! I bet it doesn't even eat scorpions.
Not so much, though they can take small lizards if they get caught in their web.
Spider shoulda stayed outdoors, then she would have been fine. Small requiem, but no venomous critters inside is a very good rule.
Shanie is adorable. I love the babytoes picture, nom! I love the baby and mom tandem sleeping event, too.
Oh, dear, he looks extremely displeased after his bath.
Shanie is unbelievably cute!!! I can't believe how big he is already.
BABY! CUTIE BABY!
I have just discovered the number one reason why I shouldn't get cable. I'm watching the premier of the latest Lifetime movie. It's like crack!
Golden Age Collectibles. (I think that's the name) IJS.
Dude-- first place we went. Abby and Nate emerged with comics, manga, and trading cards. Then we went to Old Seattle Paper Works where I came out with a classic issue of Life (1963 iconic cover with Liz and Dick and proclaiming Cleopatra the most expensive film EVAR) and a 1964 issue of The Saturday Evening Post with a cover story on Hong Kong fashion. Then into the Market proper where we bought some fresh sausages, the kids engaged in a conversation with a fish monger about how the (already cooked) Dungeness crabs were staring at them ("Of course they are-- you're staring at them aren't you?") and bought Abby a pendant from a glassworks artisan. Observed all the different street artists, had fresh hot doughnuts, walked along Western Avenue and popped into The Spanish Table where I could OMG live. Although, I have to say, I'm content with my Cuban cookbook collection-- they didn't have any I either didn't have or didn't recognize. However, didn't leave there empty-handed either. Got a small round of Drunken Goat cheese and the cookbook Cooking From the Heart of Spain which was on sale.
After that, we called it a successful day and headed on home where I cooked up some pork loin chops and sauced them with caramelized onions, pear, apple, and Merguez sausage (A spicy Moroccan sausage made with lamb, beef, and lots of spices.) Deglazed with some Riesling, and called it YUM.
A perfectly perfect day. Kind of makes up for not being able to attend the PixDesign gala.
And Shanie is such a wee handsome little man!
Dinner at Barb's tonight. I told TCG that if we ever go back to Seattle we have to stay in a hotel room with a kitchen of some sort because it is too hard to go to Pike's and not buy stuff to make dinner with.
Cutie Shane.
I fell asleep on the couch around 7 and then woke up at about 10:30. Ugh. Still have a sink full of dishes, too.
I'm watching the premier of the latest Lifetime movie. It's like crack!
We have spoken to you before about Lifetime. Step away.
Shane is, of course, adorable and obviously has strong opinions about the bath.
askye, I hope the antibiotics do the trick and you can put all this behind you. It sounds miserable.
