DJ, I'm so sorry. What a terrible, terrible thing.
'War Stories'
Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
That's fucking awful, DJ. I'm sorry.
well... i might have gone to wikipedia for that definition. still, it's not contradicted by the other things I'm finding.
I didn't realize the word was one researcher's coinage, so didn't get the negative aspects emphasized in wikipedia.
Then again, I'm not a prescriptionist and I think the word has taken on a shade closer to what I emphasized which is the giddy, "falling in love" feeling.
In any event, I didn't mean to ascribe any of that negative hoo haw to you, mein smonster.
Oh, Daisy, I'm so sorry. That poor boy and his family, and you, and everyone who loves them and him and remembers the sweet-faced twelve-year-old.
All possible peace and strength to his family.
All this, yes.
Daisy, I'm so sorry. Much ~ma to you and to your friends.
Oh DJ-- so much ~ma to your friends and you.
((((Daisy and Daisy's people))))
Maybe you could call tomorrow (after the first flurry of activity subsides) to offer babysitting, or doing something with parents while someone else babysits?
Daisy, what terrible news. I am sorry.
So sorry, DJ and DJ friends.
I am so sorry, DJ. How horrible.
{{{Daisy}}} That so sucks. All kinds of peace and ~ma to you and the boy's family.
At least 95% keep saying that teachers make more money than private sector
I will say that the teacher's salaries in the high school districts around here are pretty decent. The elementary districts? NSM.
In the Chicago suburbs, there are elementary districts (K-8) and HS districts (9-12). I work at an elementary district and make roughly 60% what I made working in the private sector 4 years ago. If I were working at the HS district in my area, I would be making roughly 90% of what I made in the private sector. Better, but still not what I made working in corporate America.
Teachers with tons of years (20+) and extracurricular stipends can and do make very low six figures ($100-120K) around here. Principals all make low six figures. Superintendents make more like $250-500K.
