Hands! Hands in new places!

Willow ,'Storyteller'

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Apropos of nothing, but because I'm thinking about it today - we're changing our names really soon, like REALLY soon, because of having to postpone our civil partnership. (I send off a paper for publication this week or next week, so we start using it then.) On the one hand, I'm nervous as hell over what people will think. Which is funny, because if I were marrying a bloke, it would be entirely normal that I was changing my name. But also: yay for having a whole new family with its own little name! Happy-making.

And my sister just sent me a picture of my niece next to a snow-dog they've made. It's bigger than her. Heh.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I am now in San Francisco. I'm not sure what time zone my body thinks it's in. I just slept for 12 hours. Now, I've got to go eat breakfast, and then be awake and alert and enthusiastic for giving a talk and then having three interviews. (I've got six interviews total, of which there are two that sound really good, two that sound OK, and two that don't sound great but I'd take the job if it were the only one offered. I've got one of each category today.)

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I am taking a Very Buffista class this semester. Well, actually all of them are, but my Tuesday night class is quintessential. Intro to Linguistics. And I, quite simply, adore it. Prof told me I have a very sophisticated sense of linguistics and language use. t preens I blame and thank you guys. I also have a hunormous crush on him. He became a PhD in Linguistics because he wanted to understand his childhood stuttering and lisping better and make it so that kids who stutter and lisp don't get labeled "learning delayed" anymore. He is so amazing and passionate about the class. I think this might be my favorite class this semester.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Lots of ~ma to your friends, Hec.

::fist-bumps P-C:: Buffista backup is the best. I'm telling you, I kept picturing myself duct-taped to the wall while I was talking to KBD. That First Fail pic is also now my phone background.

smonster, do you have my phone number?

Went to bed right after I posted. No, I don't believe I do. Profile addy is good.

Well, I don't want to move to Chicago (too cold! sorry!) and his kids live in Ohio with his ex-wife so it might depend on plane ticket prices and really, I am trying to keep this crush from getting out of hand. But it's probably too late.

Hey! Stop stealing the Chicago boys. Hard enough around here as it is.

Technically he's an NC boy, I'm just reclaiming what y'all stole first.

This is going to end up like that ep of The West Wing and the stolen copy of the Bill of Rights.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm watching Ninja Warrior & one of the guys is named Kobayashi. I puzzled over it for a moment before asking D where I'd heard that name before.

Also in the Usual Suspects, isn't it?
