Our National Grid is rationing gas supplies. Britain really, really can't cope with a bit of cold and snow. Unbelievable.
All the talk of nail polish is making me want to buy more colours. I usually only use one or two colours, with clear polish most of the time. Maybe I should get more adventurous with colours. I currently have a fantastic dark grey and a shimmery red-pink.

Hil, it sounds like you're well prepared for the interviews. I hope they go well. When's the first? (I can totally relate to the thing of focusing on details. That's how I get over my nerves, too. Planning transport home from places is particularly helpful!)

P-C, I don't know if this will help, but your mother's reaction to your e-mail is very much like the way that The Girl's father deals with us (particularly her). He is very immature and self-focused - we've learned that the best way of coping with this is to let him sulk, and to keep being very reasonable ourselves. I also agree with Teppy about ignoring guilt trips completely.
