Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Damn. I feel like I'm teething, and want to bite down hard on something. Also, when I swallow soft food like pureed winter squash, it feels like I might be swallowing too hard.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Freeze a wrung out wash cloth and bite in that, maybe, WindSparrow. Could help. Not with the swallowing, probably.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Wet tea bag, WindSparrow.

Unless it's really pureed winter squash, I think you're being too ambitious. You're still in chicken noodle soup and ice cream territory.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

P-C, have some mom~ma.

WindSparrow, I hope you can get some pain relief.

I love the stories of how people met/got along on first meeting. I originally met The Girl via a networking site. On meeting her IRL, I fell in love and asked her out immediately, and she took nearly a year to realise I was worth a try. It's a good thing I'm patient (and that my sudden impulses are sometimes lasting ones).

We're going home this morning. I've never been so happy to go back to my snow-covered city in all my life. I think we made progress with The Girl's family in the end, though, which is amazing. It probably involves postponing our civil partnership till the winter, though. Sigh. I am working on gracious acceptance of life's challenges...

Here's hoping the snow doesn't delay our flight too much!

Soft and mushy enough to make me not feel like I have to chew, whereas I can't suppress the urge to chew the noodles.

Our wings are not tired.

From wayyy back:

SJ:

Java, I'm so glad that the rest of your trip improved, and I hope we will get a chance to "meet" next time you are in town.

Yes. We only got the chance to see Jesseh because she lives only blocks from Steve and could be as flexible with the off/on as we needed. Steve is just working so hard right now, and it's so stressful, that I didn't know A)when he'd be home Monday and Tuesday and B) if he'd be up for going out and meeting someone new. So on my last night in Boston, we finally got to see someone other than eachother. And it was a lovely dinner. The more Steve meets Buffistas, and sees how cool and nice they are, the more he is up to meeting new ones. I actually had to remind him that Megan originated as a B.org friend - she's not a "Buffista" to him, she's our drinking/sleepover/slounger amiga.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I bought some sale xmas candy today but I figure if I eat all the green ones first then it's Gryffindor candy.

You could give all the green ones to a Slytherin acquaintance, in the interest of cross-house harmony.

I totally understand, and I hope you know that I wasn't trying to make you feel bad. Next time you're in town, maybe a quiet dinner for four so that your BF isn't overwhelmed by too many new people?
