'Underneath'

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

*headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk*

But ION than issues that are making The Girl cry and me want to lose the plot entirely with certain people (were The Girl not asking me NOT to, I absolutely would be)...

Yad Vashem is an amazing, if horrendous and harrowing place. For me personally, it was moving on a number of levels, including thoughts of my grandfather (he was a British Jew who served in WW2 and never talked about it afterwards), and wider connections with the Eugenics projects that happened at the same time in the UK and other non-Nazi-controlled countries (research into this has formed a significant part of my work on various aspects of Other-ing disabled people). I learned a lot, despite having thought before that I was already quite informed on the subject. Definitely somewhere that everybody should visit if they go to Israel.

So my apparently my home country has got lost under feet and feet of snow. I do hope our flight home on Thursday actually takes off.

Polter-Cow, eek! I hope that's not a mistake your landlord repeats.

Vortex, that's fantastic (and congrats). There should be more good bosses in the world.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I think I love Vortex's new boss, too.

Continued Yay! for Kristin & Drew, today!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

FWIW I think her tears and heartfelt apology when she realized what she'd done are more important.

This this this this this.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

YAY Vortex's new boss!

CREEPY P-C's landlord!!

I am supposed to be on a work trip today, but it has been canceled, because I got to the airport and found out there have not been any flights there in two days, due to fog. Oops. You'd think they could've MENTIONED that on the website when I checked in...Unfortunately, when I called the people I'm meeting with up and rescheduled, the only day we could both do it was MLK Day, which I'm supposed to have off. HRMPH.

According to wiki.answers, one says congratulations by saying

Ho'omaika'i

And thank heavens I don't have to pronounce that out loud.
