The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I haz a Suzi!

We are both sitting on the sofa, with our laptops open.

Our wings are not tired

120dB is flat out irresponsible for an extended period! I was able to get a my systems up at Universal Studios up about 120 dB when I was doing system checks, but I'd never put an audience through that. That's right at the threshold of hearing damage and louder than a jet engine at 100 meters.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Okay, a Revillion menu sounds like my kind of thing. Nora, the one you and Tom had does sound amazing!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I hate sitting in the doctor's office and arguing with myself over whether or not I'm sick enough to be there. I'm always worried that the doc will say something along the lines of, "You have a cold. Geez, lady, deal with it like the rest of the world does and stop wasting my time." Which has never happened but I always worry about it. More often than not it's, "You really should've come in sooner". And that's my round-a-bout way of saying that I'm glad you got yourself into the doc, Tep.

I am glad too. And do much the same thing. I stress about going when it's pointless and then don't go when it's Actually Something (totally didn't realize it was a concussion, or I would have gone sooner, I swears.)

Right now I am dealing with the bronchitis that Santa brought me. But I have script Sudafed, my regular inhaler and my rescue inhaler. Plus a lot of Advil and a chance to finally rest. Until the stuff I sneeze or cough up stops being clear , I figure there's nothing else to be done.

Good lord, Nora. That menu sounds amazing and the drinks even better. Plus I am a sucker for really well done drinks with Aviation and St. Germaine. Especially when sweetly savory flavors grace the drink as well.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

From waaay back, for JZ:

They're round and bumpy and they catch on things and two of them have already fallen off. I've been trolling eBay for pewter-ish buttons that are flatter and won't catch on everything in sight, but, damn, they're pricey. Where should I be looking?

Well, jas-townsend.com has a bunch of reproduction pewter-ish buttons, but they can run around 55 - 85 cents per button.

Honestly, I would just make a bunch of fabric-covered buttons in a nice contrasting fabric and use those. In fact, JZ, I'm sending you email about this. I have a (possibly) clever plan.

Nora, that menu and drinks sound fantastic. Mmmm, St. Germaine.

Don't get your hopes up too high, Jilli. Aviation is gin .

Sorry.

Still I want to play Let's Make Up Cocktails sometime there. I do love St. Germaine in many cocktails.

Oh, I know that Aviation is the accursed juniper alcohol. But I know I recently had a cocktail involving Aviation, St. Germaine, and egg white (plus some other stuff, I think), and it was amazing. Maybe the St. Germaine makes gin palatable for me?

That is the happiest thing I have heard all day!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

OMG, Nora, that sounds like the most amazing meal. And those cocktails sound fantastic.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Looked like a kumquat but wasn't

Might have been a loquat. They're the same shape, but with a flesh more similar to pear or apricot.

I had a tree in my side yard in Spain, the landlord called them the "oriental" tree.
