I'll note that mania is a lot more fun for the maniac than for the people around him
Yes, that's what I meant. Mania is often not fun to watch and can be scary and destructive.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

On the plus side of mania, sometimes you can paint a whole hallway with a 3 inch brush in a half hour!
(Not that I know that from personal, first hand experience. No. Not at all.)
Also, I've gotten scarily addicted to getting packages in the mail.
Me, too. Luckily I can feed that somewhat through bookmooch, which keeps the spendy down as long as I'm not mailing to Portugal. Still, finding DDR for Wii on my porch is likely to be a sweet hit.
I ordered a pair of sneakers from Zappos on Sunday. UPS tracking says the package was put on a truck in Louisville, KY on Monday, but it hasn't been updated since then. What's up with that?
ION- I'm on season 2 of Faracape, and have just discovered my fav episode. "Out of Their Minds". Since we are tv geeks here, I thought I'd share.
While I'm not sure it's my all-time favorite, it is right up there. Brilliant work by the cast, and I love the whole "So a brain switch is old hat? Let's do a SECOND switch!"

Someone parked the truck and left it in Louisville, KY?
Whoa. I just got another interview. I don't want to say the name of the university on a public forum when it's just an interview and not a job offer, but it's at a REALLY good school.
I check my bank account/credit card online a few times a week, because I'm paranoid about identity theft.
Heeeey, it's like we're the same person.
Hee!
(That's probably not a revelation to anyone but me, but when I thought of it, I was tickled by my soooooper-genius.)
I don't have any system like that; I just pay my balance in full each month.
Oh, me too; I just make sure to enter my purchases in my check register so that I know I'm not spending more than I'll be able to pay off. I have to keep track, especially during Christmas shopping, etc.
I finally made it to work, where there is hot crab dip and Triscuits (for all 7 of us [which is more than I thought would be here]). Woot! Also, on the way in, I heard "Disco Inferno," which still makes me giggle and think (or occasionally sing) "Burn, Scrappy, burn..."
Mmmm...hot crab....

It is so good I could eat the dip with a spoon, instead of on Triscuits. But I love me some Triscuits, so it's all working out nicely.
