Buffy: A Guide, but no water or food. So it leads me to the sacred place and then a week later it leads you to my bleached bones? Giles: Buffy, really. It takes more than a week to bleach bones.

'Dirty Girls'

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Compassionately intolerant

Because it deserves its own post...

Epic, every possible vibe for minor physical, and major life-change, impact incident fallout for your mom.

And peace to your heart.

Tea:

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! And happy day to all!

Jilli, I just wrapped our cousin's birthday gift in a black bag with a bright pink bow and was thinking of you.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

what's in the 1910 vegetarian cookbook? I had no idea any such thing existed.

Apparently there was a vegetarian society back in in the mid-1800s. [link] And Kellogg was a big proponent of vegetarianism at the turn of the century. [link] I bet they put together some cookbooks.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Sherlock Holmes mentions a vegetarian restaurant in London in one of the stories.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Presents are opened! I got a compost crock, a bat house, and Life On Mars UK. Plus part of a goat from Heifer International. Yay!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

And, Hil, so what's in the 1910 vegetarian cookbook? I had no idea any such thing existed. What a great find on your sister's part!

I haven't done more than just glance through it yet. There's a store in NY that sells rare and antiquarian cookbooks, and my sister knows that she can get me pretty much anything from there and I'll love it.

ION, cookie fail. I'm not sure what happened. I've made this recipe before and it was perfect. These ones taste good, but they're way too thin and chewy. My best guess is that I wasn't paying enough attention and I added the oil twice, or maybe didn't add enough flour. In any case, the flavorings are rum, vanilla, molasses, cinnamon, and nutmeg, so they still taste really good.

The gift's for TCG's family are all ready to go. I re-used bows from last night, which I figured is both environmentally friendly and a huge time saver for me. No one should notice the difference.

The gathering with the step-family that was supposed to be tomorrow has been moved to the day after tomorrow! Which means that I can sleep in tomorrow and see Sherlock Holmes in the afternoon!

I have some leftover sugar-free peppermint bark that I made. I will ship it to the first person who claims it.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

We're in Deepest Darkest Hampshire with my family. Currently watching the BBC production of The Gruffalo. So funny. Doctor Who next! Oh, there was also an enormous turkey dinner with a hundred desserts afterwards including chocolate yule log. My mother and grandmother are an amazing cooking team.
