Ben: I didn't ask for any of this. I just want to be normal. Gronx: I wanted to be an underwear model. We play the hand we're dealt.

'Touched'

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

{{{P-C}}} How scary! I'm glad you are ok.

Things are looking slightly better this morning. I am looking forward to going to Mom's for our big Christmas Eve fish dinner.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Boy, nothing sucks the Christmas Spirit right out of you like payroll not being deposited.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Lovely ring, smonster.

Great presents for the boy, Steph.

P-C, what an awful experience. I hope you're feeling better today.

I love the Ryan posts.

As for me, I've been spending my time in MI with my sister and niece and nephew's girlfriend (the guys had to work yesterday). I really like my nephew's girlfriend, and I hope they'll make things permanent. She's an anime and Who watching, Linux and penguin loving, shy, sweet geek girl. I'd actually have some idea of what to get her for Christmas, which is more than I can say for many of my blood relatives.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Crappity, Aims!

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Oh crap, Aims. Merry Fucking Christmas indeed.

P-C that sounds hellaciously scary, but I think someone else probably got mugged (or almost), and you weren't the target. That, or it was guys fucking around with each other. That probably doesn't help the adrenaline hangover much, though.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Boy, nothing sucks the Christmas Spirit right out of you like payroll not being deposited.

Phooey. A pox on your employers.

P-C, I got mugged many years ago in France. Don't be surprised if you are wary for some time. Do what you need to do to feel safe. ::hugs::

Merry Happy, as the Dean said on Community.

That happened to me on Easter. What is it with pagan-coopted-by-Christian holidays and lack of paychecks?!?

I'm on day 6 or 7 of this fucking cold, and it just won't die. We have lunch with my Dad (for which we have to leave in 23 minutes, and The Boy is not back from the pharmacy yet -- for his Rx, not mine -- and then has to shower when he comes back, grrrrr), and then dinner with my mom and stepdad's family. In between that, The Boy needs to go to a garden store to get a stone turtle or something for him mom, because he's not done shopping.

I could handle Christmas with ADD better if I weren't sick. Instead, I'm just sitting on the couch in my bathrobe muttering imprecations.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Hope people are having a good one. I just put The Girl through three hours of PhD proposal madness (really ought to stop that). I'm hoping it's not a bad sign that writing these things makes me a nervous wreck. Hi, universe: seasonal present of funding much appreciated after all this work. Can't have a drink 'cause of Midnight Mass later, but my mother, my sister and I are going to share a bottle of wine tomorrow yes we are 'cause I said so.

Aims, that's rubbish. I hope they can sort out the payment for you soon.

ETA:

Ick. Hope you feel better soon. Many sympathies on the sick thing. I am hoping my pain levels drop massively, meself, or Christmas is going to be a bit depressing. Hmph.

Hahahahaha. We have to leave in 13 minutes, and while he's home, his mom called, wanting to know how to save a picture out of an email. The conversation from his end is all, "Right click....no, try RIGHT clicking....did you RIGHT click?"

Grah.
