It's because you didn't have a strong father figure isn't it?

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Really we could eat any time. I only have one big meal planned. I'd be ready for guests any time after three. If you're looking for a specific suggestion, how's six? Oh and: you can park in the driveway. Also, you don't have an allergy to down, do you? (that's about pillows, not dinner)

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Six sounds reasonable. No allergy to down.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

The Girl and I are debating whether Tennant's Hamlet - [link] - is going to work on TV, especially as it was filmed on the stage. There's a clip that suggests it's going to look overplayed. I love that he's doing it with an Estuary accent, though.

Shir - heh. You are sweet. I'm not sure that The Girl and I are quite as engaging as you say - but it's nice to talk to someone who doesn't think we're scary just because we bicker all the time. (It's our way. Heh.)

P-C, that sounds horrendous - I hope you're OK.

sj, wishing you better baking today! (And I love that TCG cleans up the mess. The Girl is similarly awesome about such things. She even cleans up when I contributed nothing at all to dinner.)

Teppy, your present list for The Boy sounds just awesome.

lol I was thinking Geoffrey Tennant. That looks awesome but it won't let me watch the clip.

It's weird. I can find the videos but there's text across them that says "not available in your area".

Is this it?

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

That will be because it's the BBC and they only let UK-based viewers watch. Same with ABC etc - I can't see the episodes they put up for Americans. I forgot. Still, the rest of the page should be explore-able!

xkcd today is making us laugh in my household: [link]

Yeah I'm pretty sure that youtube clip I found is the same production. I still think it looks awesome but I'm a pretty easy sell on Shakespeare and especially Hamlet.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

We've made it safely to Canberra. Ryan handled his first flight beautifully; no complaints, just a keen interest in all the new experiences. Tonight he met my sister for the first time, as well as his two cousins. Andrew's starting Kindergarten next year, and he and Ryan got on very well. My other nephew, Brody, is the one who had the aneurysm last year. He's still having around thirty seizures a day, and he's reached an age where he can anticipate (and dread) them. his motor functions are improving, though his vision and movement on his left side are still impaired. The better news is that the damage to his brain largely missed his memory and reasoning centres. Most importantly, he' seems to be a happy little boy.

Tomorrow night they're having more people over, and I'll be able to catch up with my older brother in a somewhat controlled environment. That works out well. I want to see him, but it does involve some planning and boundaries.

Ryan is now sacked out in the portable cot. It's been such a big day for him, and he's handled it so well. Sweet little man.
