Don't worry, I'm not gonna start any sword fights. I'm over that phase.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I enjoyed the opportunity to learn about the position available, the Research Department, as well as the Alumni Relations and Resource Development office. As I mentioned earlier, I really feel that I would succeed in your department due to my strong interest in research and my experience with it in the context of my current position and my recent academic research.

I'm no expert, but I think you need more of a selling statement. Maybe something like:

I enjoyed the opportunity to learn about the Research Department and the Alumni Relations and Resource Development office. I believe my strong interest in research and recent academic work, coupled with my experience at the the university, can make me a valuable member of your team.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Fuck. I screwed up my accounting (well, what I call accounting) and managed to spend through the cushion that I like to keep in my checking account. Not a huge deal, I can build it back up, but will have to be frugal for a while. I went to get my car checked out before I drive to Richmond for Christmas, the brakes had been making a weird noise, but were working fine, and . . . I need new brakes. To the tune of $900. The guy didn't even want me to drive it out of there even though he couldn't work on it until tomorrow. I suppose the good thing is that if I hadn't been going on the trip, I probably would have fooled around checking it out. Which technically I did anyway, since it first made the noise two weeks ago.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Ewww, headache. Have applied drugs and food.

Thanks for the advice, y'all. I may swing by 10K Villages if I have time just b/c I love their decorations, but I won't sweat it.

I have a shopping cart of $140 (including shipping) at Sierra Trading Post. That would get me three sweaters, two shrugs, and a faux suede vest. According to them, I'm saving $218 over the retail cost. Hmm. I need more sweaters and I'm hoping these would be high quality and long lasting.

I think I just talked myself into it. Got rid of the shrugs, which brought it down to $125.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Brakes are sneaky that way. I did the same thing in August - getting ready for a trip, got the car checked out, needed new brakes. when I thought they were fine. Mine had been squeaking but then they stopped, which probably means I pushed it even further...Sorry it's a hit to the finances, but I'm glad you'll be safe!

Good luck, Nora!

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

And now I want to buy fingerless gloves and organic underwear, both types of items I do need. I want office armwarmers that are a little less... glittery, and a lot of my underwear is so old it's starting to shred.

OMG why so shoppy, smonster?

I should distract myself with work. Heh.
