No. Definitely not.
'Potential'
Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Nora, best of luck and ~ma for that coming job interview.
Erm, with all the talk of wisdom teeth extraction here, apparently it's contagious. My dentist decided it is time for me to say goodbye to mine. Simple extractions. So, as I was somewhat in denial during previous conversations, knowing that I'm about 20 years past the intent of the dentist who saw them cut gum saying, "Well, they're ok for now but eventually they will have to come out," is it completely untenable for me to think I can be back to work the next day? I've made my appointment for next Wednesday, which I have off. I do have to work Thursday and Friday, but most of the residents will be with their families for the weekend, so I anticipate a very easy couple of days.
ION, I hate being a mandated reporter.
The next day windsparow? You probably want Thursday off, though surely at this point that'll be hard to get. Maybe just do your job stoned on mess, wheee!
Nora, sorry about the workplace stress. I agree a nice social drink is in order.
WindSparrow, I am notoriously wimpy when it comes to physical discomfort (witness today) but I would give myself a few days to recover from the wisdom teeth if I were you.

I'll talk to the supervisor I work for on Thurs-Fri - we should be able to work something out in the near future, even if I end up rescheduling my appointment. It's not an emergency, they just need to be done soon-ish - and I was surprised when the scheduling clerk offered me next Wednesay.

That doesn't sound good.
I remember being pretty exhausted next day, but not otherwise incapacitated.
I actually went out to a bar that night (after having my wisdom teeth out) but didn't drink of course. Reaction to wisdom tooth extraction varies wildly, but I would give yourself a day or two.
{{{Nora}}} Job~ma.
Bah. I hate doctor's appointments. It's like they see me coming and start thinking of all the different procedures they can try to see if they would work.
Seems my mom got herself a Kindle. Now, she doesn't have a modern computer, or net access. But the kindle downloads without. But is there a way to send her Project Gutenburg plain text type books? Can you plug in a thumb drive and transfer stuff?
You can't plug in a thumb drive, at least not on mine (the older version). But if you rummage around a bit on the Amazon Kindle page, you'll find instructions on how to get books from Project Gutenberg and other places as well. I copied the info, but that's now on the defunct computer.
smonster, excellent hair!
Seska and smonster, glad your respective airlines got themselves sorted out.
Erin, I would have walked out on that massuese. Really. And possibly demanded my money back, if I were feeling confrontational. Anyone pressed down on my sacrum, I get nervous.
Glamcookie Babymama! Wonder who's in there? Soon you'll know!
WindSparrow, I would strongly recommend a day off after wisdom teeth extraction. You may not need it, but dang, if you do, you don't want to have to go to work.
Nora, I want to strangle your stupid boss. I may be projecting; he sounds a lot like how my boss acts sometimes.
