Random officemate comment today: he was very disappointed and somewhat puzzled that there's not a traditional Chanukah drink -- since Christmas has eggnog, there must be something for Chanukah.

It's a shame there isn't a holiday based on the miracle of one bottle of single malt lasting through eight days of partying.

Most def. In Wisconsin brandy is more typical.
ugh, nog makes me wanna vomit. two of my least favorite things (egg and cream) ruining one of my more favorite things (rum.) *sigh*
eta: i even tried the silk variety, thinking that without the nauseau-inducing ingredients i might enjoy it. Nope. i clearly do not appreciate christmas.
My preferred nog is virgin from the cartons (I prefer it in glass bottles over cartons if I can get them). I never drank it with alcohol until about 10 years ago.
The carton stuff is best by itself. I consider that an entirely different substance than homemade real eggnog, which absolutely requires rum or some other spirit.
About an hour or so ago I got a call from my Supervisor.
Mandatory Saturday for all help desk staff because they got their numbers so high today, when I had the day off.
Andi will be so thrilled.
I was going to make scones tonight, but I don't feel like it now.
Woohoo!! Finals week is my BEE-YOTCH.
Started the week with 6 final projects, as follows:
1) Writing Portfolio consisting of at least ten pages of work.
2) Publishing project with two other classmates consisting of at least 6 pieces of work put together ina small booklet thing.
3) Final paper ammending a general education lesson plan for two kids falling under the Special Education heading.
4) 1100-1500 word paper on Mad Men from a feminist and culture/historic POV.
5) Take 6 quizes in prep for final exam in education class.
6) Final exam for education class.
#1 and #3 are done. #2 will be done tomorrow. Maybe even tonight. #4 is due Tuesday by 6pm, but I want to turn it in Monday evening so I don't have to go to campus Tuesday. I've started, but it's been very touch and go. I think I'll probably start over. #5 is open book and the questions from the quizzes are what make up the exam, so that shold make the exam easy and all of that is due by Friday. Bleh.
And in the middle of all of this I have a freaking field trip with my Daisy troop.

I'm not sure I followed that, DCJ. You had today off and because of circumstances that occurred while you weren't there you have to go in tomorrow? That bites.

on TV. Every time I watch it, I'm amazed at how beautiful and sad it is. Like, I shouldn't watch it because it's so sad, but too beautiful to skip past.
