I asked her what other foods her mother made that she liked. "Spagetti, with tomato sauce, but the Jewish way, not the Italian way."

According to my mother, this means spaghetti with ketchup, which her father liked. The cottage cheese and sour cream on noodles sounds like the best I can think of for that, too -- it would usually be those wide egg noodles. Again, my grandfather liked it.

My plan for today was to go to synagogue, go grocery shopping, and maybe go to a few garage sales. What I actually did today was sleep, pretty much all day. I guess I must have needed the sleep, but now I'm hungry and have no food, so I ordered pizza.

I have been to pilates, then I have to do research the rest of the afternoon. Tonight we are taking my friend H, who is frazzled from planning for her son's Bar Mitzvah next week, to see The Switch.

First a Julia Roberts movie and now Jennifer Aniston? Scrappy, you need new friends.

I am firmly considering this as a Jason Bateman movie. Aniston is but a minor accessory to the adorable Bateman.

For your sake, I hope that is enough.
