You never know if a girl's gonna say 'yes', or if she's gonna laugh in your face and pull out your still-beating heart and crush it into the ground with her heel.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

And what Vortex said. Say it nicely. But it has to be said.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

My instinct would be to treat it as assumed. "I thought about it, and with getting married and all it would be good to have a little extra coming in so yes, I'd be happy to do it. The only weeks when I'll have an issue are..."

Maybe that's passive agressive too, but.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Go with what Vortex is saying. It's always been difficult for me to phrase things right so I'm sure Vortex has got a better handle on it.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I like Vortex's direct approach.

“Not dead yet!”

smonster, you've got insent (or should) from me, on your question. Lemme know if you got it since I've been having fits with my email program.

“Not dead yet!”

I'd go for the slightly less aggressive approach--either the Brenda assumption-of-payment or the opposite, assuming it's not-- "Oh, I really don't think I could commit to something like that unless it was a paid position, you know I adore him and am happy to help on occasion, but..."

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Barb, not yet. Thank you in advance! And Gud, I got yours and backflung.

Our wings are not tired.

meara, that's a good approach. I like your wording.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Alternatively, I would like there to be no consequences when I want to go play live-action Whack A Mole with the PMs who think their specs can be used for documentation with no extra work.

Do they ever say "It's perfectly clear to me?"
