Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
huh, I guess my chi is SERIOUSLY blocked.
This hadn't-had-a-single-relationship-til-age-27 gal concurs. (I don't know how I found The Girl. I had a moment of 'you are getting ALL your luck right now' from the universe.)
I've had days like that. I feel your pain. {{{sj}}}
As do I. (I am so tired of this month's dose of megapain. It can stop now, thanksverymuch, though it doesn't seem to have got that message. Grr.)
Andi, it sounds like you did totally the right thing regarding contacting the supervisor. Good on ya, and I hope that situation calms down asap.
Shir, your sister is a hero.
I'm smiling, but from here it's more complicated. But I'm glad you can still think so. There's nothing like living in a war zone to teach you that there is no black and white in life or war. For me, personally, my sister she's a hero, of course - but I would never, in a million years, could do what she's doing in her service.
If things were more clear when I was 17-18, I'd reject army for national service (I told you people about the difference, right? That it's not like in the U.S.? [link] ). I'm not regretting for serving, but now I can tell which parts were completely fucked up (one day, when I'll be awake, I'll tell you the story of Shir and the Proper Water Level in IDF Canteen while on Guard).
Thursdays are evil, or something. I have to exorcise the Thursdays with this magical amulet.
And now I am brainwormed with "and then Bob's your Winchester!"
now I am brainwormed with "and then Bob's your Winchester!"
Dude. Bobby's no Winchester. Dean's totally my Winchester. YWMV.
Yes, it's possible that's gone entirely over my head, and the Show hiatus is a bit long.
have the Popeye fans noticed today's google home page logo?
wow, quiet in here today. Cereal (sorry, I got no snacks in my new desk yet, despite need of something to munch on).
Just got approval to spend just over $37k on a rental sound system. Yes, there is a bit of drool on the desk. A little shakiness in the hands. Sweat on the palms. And that was the easy part. When it arrives Jan 3rd, oh boy will that be crazy time.
I still haven't heard back from my advisor. And he still hasn't submitted my letter of recommendation. I don't know if he'll be in tomorrow, but I know that he's teaching a class Thursday, so if I haven't heard from him by then, I'll go wait outside the classroom when the class is ending.
Also, I realized today, after I made a bunch of diagrams for a talk I'm giving, that I'd only saved them as PDFs, and there were a few things I wanted to edit. I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to start over again. The ones I have are good enough, but I can see some obvious ways to make them better.
Hil, you probably know some people who can edit PDFs, depending on the type of edits necessary.
It's graphics stuff. There's a title that I put at the bottom of the image that I now think would look better at the top, and some lines that I want to make thicker, because I realized that just making some lines black and some lines green wasn't enough to easily tell them apart -- it would be much easier to see which lines were which if the green ones were also thicker.
All my officemates think that I'm "really hardcore" because I only got local anesthesia for my wisdom tooth extraction instead of general. Is that really that uncommon?
