Happy Birthday VW!
Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Happy happy to Ms Bug!
I have to credit my company with training me to be much more open and friendly on a regular basis.
Previously (6 years or so ago) I was very closed off when I was anywhere in public. When I went into Coors for the first time for my interview, I was actually highly agitated by all of the people in the halls and the elevator that were so damn cheerful and almost insistent about making eye contact and saying hello. You're at work - be miserable! Freaks!
The culture there was / is just so completely different from anything I've dealt with in the past and it definitely took me a month or so to handle it with ease. I was in a constant state of anxiety until I basically forced myself to be ok with it.
BTW, they're still freaks that are way too happy most of the time, but they're my freaks.
Wait. People who work for Coors are happy? Like, for real? They're not faking high morale because their raises depend on it or something?
...are the desks stocked with beer?
Sold the piece of junk car! Woot!!
And we were *honest*. "This doesn't work, that doesn't work, this is broken, that makes a horrible noise..."
And they took it anyway!
Some people like taking a piece of junk and making it into something good. One of them lives across the street from me and always has cars in various stages of rebuilding in his front yard. I'm not complaining, cause I greatly prefer it to the registered sex offender/meth dealer who finally was hauled off.
MM, that's great!
I have issues making eye contact, especially if I'm in a bad mood, not liking myself. In Moldova there were times I didn't want to look people in the eyes, for fear they'd see I was losing my soul.
I believe I've mentioned that was a difficult time for me?
Smonster, you just reminded me. I have a new asylum client from Moldova. I'm looking for a country conditions expert someone with a degree who knows the country well. Any chance you know someone like that?
...are the desks stocked with beer?
Sort of. Not that you'd drink any of it but most people decorate their desks with different cans or bottles of beers that we've produced. First off of the line stuff. It's a thing.
The cafeterias, though, do have beer on tap. So far Golden only has Banquet and Light but the 6th floor bar has all of the Miller and Coors brands, import and export. At least that's what I've been told.
It's really a shame that I'm not much of a beer drinker.
Does Coors need an editor? Does beer need to be grammatically correct?
Bravo on selling the junk car Miracleborns. What a relief that must be!
A co-worker once had his $50 POS vw bug stolen...no biggie. 4 years later (this was mid 80s), the cops informed him that they reclaimed his car from the thieves. The thieves who had proceeded to 'blueprint' (ground up re-minting) the car, which at that point was worth $4,000.
Best stolen car ever.
