Mal: How drunk was I last night? Jayne: Well I dunno. I passed out.

'Our Mrs. Reynolds'

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I really enjoyed Kontroll.

Ooh. It's on Instant and it's by the same guy who did Predators. It looks pretty cool, thanks. Looks more like my thing than Sunshine. I think I heard about Gloomy Sunday years ago, and it sounds intriguing.

Boom, two Budapest movies on Instant Netflix and two Barcelona movies to get from the library, and I can have a foreign film weekend extravaganza! (Well, the Barcelona movies are not foreign films. But you know.)

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Sagrada Familia!

Parc Guell! Highly recommend getting a picnic lunch at the market and wandering around Parc Guell. It's gorgeous and has great views.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I've been home sick the last couple of days, after Ryan generously shared his chest infection with me. He's so giving. Anyway, this week has been Beatles week on one of the music channels, and I had the opportunity to watch Help!

...They weren't even going to pretend they could act, were they? (I spent most of the film suffering serious cognitive dissonance watching Rumpole of the Bailey pretend to be Indian.)

On the other hand, I realised while watching that the soundtrack is the only (original) Beatles album I don't have, and it contains some of my favourite early Mop Tops. This must be rectified.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Kontroll says in the beginning that it's totally not about the Budapest subway (and in a way, maybe even the most important way, it's not). But it does have a very Hungarian feel to it. Which is to say, a bit depressing, wonderfully humorous, and a little dark. Jon was really impressed by it.

Yes! Seriously, allow some good time for sightseeing.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Charm and charisma can really cover up serious acting deficiences. That, and a decent script, which A Hard Day's Night had and Help! didn't.

Our wings are not tired.

Seconding the Parc Guell. Also, the hop on and hop off bus system is pretty cool in Barcelona. We did that for a couple of days, trying the four (or was it three?) different lines. Really helped me get a feel for the place.

Dude, they were the Beatles. They just put their name on it, and it sold. Hard Days Night was a much better flick. Although I'd be hard pressed to say which had the better tunes.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

They were stoned through much of the filming of Help!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

So should I take a nap while listening to the rain?
