Harken: You fought with Captain Reynolds in the war? Zoe: Fought with a lot of people in the war. Harken: And your husband? Zoe: Fight with him sometimes, too.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Because books.

Laura, we should definitely try to make a F2F work this summer, since we didn't last summer!

sj, I think you might just be sleepy, if anything.

The fact that it's on the bed suggests to me that it's more about spite than otherwise, Kristin.

Our wings are not tired.

Absolutely! I seriously considered kidnapping you and dragging you to Providence with me. DH and Bobby are back in Florida now so it just me and Brendon. If you want to escape any time come on up. I will get to Hannibal at some point to visit my niece. Will let you know when that happens. I think she has been at the beach every day for the last week.

Ann, that's a ferret.

((((Byron)))) Even if it's spite, the vet may have some ideas to help him accept the new addition to the family.

Oh, I bet she goes to Fair Haven, which is where we go. It's lovely.

And yes, definitely! Maybe Sara and I could take a mini road trip and come out to see you. We should make plans.

The status is NOT quo.

I'd think this except he always crawls onto the bed after eating, so if he got sick, that's just where he would be. My biggest fear is that the night Zoe died and Byron escaped for all those hours, he could have contracted something. He hasn't been able to get vaccination boosters since he developed vaccine associated cancer and lost his leg two years ago, so he's not protected. I have a 10:20 appointment. I doubt I'll know much right away since they'll likely do blood tests and such.

Gotcha. Well, I certainly hope it's nothing and passes quickly either way!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

vaccine associated cancer

...what?

Oh, dear, now I'm scared of the vaccine boosters Leo is supposed to get next week. How often does this happen? (I am more of a hypochondriac when it comes to my cats than I am in regards to myself!)

In other news of animaux, it is Darb's monthiversary!

I celebrated by being a cruel, sadistic person and dragging her to the vet. She already had most of her shots but got a couple of new ones, was completely tramuatized by being lifted onto the exam table, and was discovered to have not one but two kinds of worms, so is now taking some wildly expensive de-worming pills and will have to go back for boosters in a couple of weeks. She also needs a teeth cleaning. Lordy. Somehow I'd forgotten how costly these little critters can be.

But all is well otherwise, so yay. And we start dog classes next week so that should be fun.

Zen, it's rare (1 in 1000, I think), but most common with the feline leukemia booster. Since our cats are indoors, I stopped getting that one for the others as well. I feel that the rest of the vaccinations are worth the risk. Here's a page that says a bit more: [link]

As with any medical issue, I do not recommend googling vaccine-associated sarcoma like I did. I read a whole lot of horrible, scary stuff that didn't help me at all.

ETA: Yay Darby and her human!
