why oh why can't there be a way on facebook to prevent someone from seeing your posts in their lineup without pissing them off by unfriending them? Like, i can block someone from my lineup, why can't i subtly take myself out of their lineup?

I've spent a good chunk of the day reading privilege-checking/intersectionality stuff and my head feels all swimmy. That plus Sady's post about feminist blogging... lots to ponder.

Already done that. The problem is that he immediately jumps on and responds to EVERYTHING i post which i find very irritating. I want him to not see *my* updates, which is slightly more difficult.
No, Erin, he means that you CAN choose who sees your updates, including the person you keep mentioning.

In annoying sewer news, i did manage to get the number of the plumber who worked on my place last time, who i liked and trusted and did great work. He's on a job right now but will swing by tonight or tomorrow, have a look at what's open, and then give me a call back with an estimate. Of course, having any new party get into the mess is pretty much guaranteed to cost more than the original folks just fixing their mistake, but after several phone conversations he's not coming down more on the price. I made it pretty clear that i'm upset with the lack of communication (e.g. "his people" cutting the line and turning off the water two days before notifying him or me....as i have discovered from my poor non-complaining cat sitters who have just been bringing bottled water with them and not using my bathroom. They thought i just hadn't warned them. Sheesh.) I kinda can't believe that anyone would turn off the water and NOT BOTHER notifying ANYONE. Even if they know i'm on vacation, that's still sort of a big deal. And i have people coming and going twice a day, so it's not like the place is abandoned.

Yep! This is a pretty great feature, especially when you're trying to organize a ninja game night without JZ seeing. Sadly, you can't change the privacy of a post once it's posted, so what's secret is secret FOREVER.
