That's my girl, large and in-charge. Okay, teensy-weensy and in charge.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

brillig

That works.

Heaven knows I was always smirking when I strolled into the dorm on a Sunday morning while wearing the clothes I left in Saturday night.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

American Ethnic Food

Simone Smith visited a gourmet supermarket in Berlin and found an American section among the ethnic foods! Now stop and guess what she found there before you see it. I imagine they stock it with “comfort foods” requested by Americans living in Germany

Huh. Hershey's Syrup is American ethic food. Also baking mix, V-8, Jim Bean, Jack Daniels, Swiss Miss, Newman's Own salad dressing... and Mac and Cheese!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I went to China for 3 months and ate the local food. Much of the time, there weren't any other options. I ate street food. I ate food cooked in people's homes. As far as I can tell, everyone in China is a great cook.

I ate little to no meat while I was there as I didn't trust it to be refrigerated, etc, and I avoided eating raw foods. I never had any problems.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I eat a lot of food I probably shouldn`t and I get sick sometimes but it`s usually worth it. I ate snake off the tree in the Venezuelan jungle--held it so the locals could skin it. I ate sheep intestine grilled just off the sheep on Navajo land. I mean, someone offered it to me, so I ate it, I didn`t really fuss about it. And I`ve eaten chain restaurants in odd places. I love Hawaiian McDonalds because you can get eggs and portuguese sausage.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Jamaican water is typically supposed to be very good quality, but you can't fight incompatible flora.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I've seen several UK people on cooking forums recommend this site [link] as a good place to get American foods not usually available in the UK. The first time I started clicking around that site, my reaction was, "It's an entire website of all the foods that my mother wouldn't let me eat as a kid!"

They've also got a special section for ingredients used in Nigella Lawson's cookbooks.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

bonny, meant to say thanks for linking that column and your post about the March. I'd heard part of the story but it was great to learn more.

Yeah, I also drink water where I shouldn`t. I don`t really know why I`m not dead. But I have to say, it might not have been the smartest thing I`ve ever done, but drinking that water that was runoff directly from the glacier at the top of my hike in Alaska was one of the most delicious drinks I`ve ever had.
