My husband woke up in the middle of the night unable to put any weight on his right foot. It seems to be pain in his Achilles tendon. Anyone have any experience with something like this? We're going into urgent care as soon as it opens at 8.

What everyone else has said and more. Zoe reached an impressive age for her breed and that is all down to your loving care. Bless all your hearts and may the pain ease into nostalgic acceptance soon.
Dana, that was pretty much how my plantar fasciitis first presented. If that's the case, stretching, ice, arch supports and this night splint thing usually gradually make the pain go away. I hope it's no more than that.
Dana, I second Ginger's opinion. I hope it's just that--it goes away after a while but it can be a pain while it's there.

Pix and ND, I'm so sorry about Zoe. You gave her a great life.
