Lorne: Once the word spreads you beat up an innocent old man, well, the truly terrible will think twice before going toe-to-toe with our Avenging Angel. Spike: Yes. The geriatric community will be soiling their nappies when they hear you're on the case. Bravo.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Barclays Bank: ACCESS FAIL. We have been given masses of misinformation, been refused the right to change our address with the bank either on the phone or online, been refused telephone access to the disability services department, been refused the copy of the statement that I desperately need for my care services financial returns, been refused a large-print statement, been told to make an appointment at a branch even though we keep explaining that this is an inaccessible half-day exhausting exercise for me, been refused an e-mail address to make a complaint... The Girl is currently on the phone with her bank, asking them to open an account for me there.

My friend has suggested calling one of the radio disability programmes or TV consumer affairs shows. I might just think about this, when I calm down a bit.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Definitely threaten the bank with the media--I was just reading the consumer help column in the Chicago Tribune, and a woman who was having problems getting a car rental company to give her a refund mentioned the column and got an immediate response.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Seska, if you decide to pursue the matter, don't forget the government.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I ran out of ice cream and I'm reading Twilight. I'm not sure if these two statements are related.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I was trying to wait for the new Good Riddance thread, but I just can't any more. I got my gift yesterday! Yay slacking! Lovely Fernet and a book Cooking with Fernet Branca, which I actually thought was a cookbook for a second, but looks really entertaining. I'm saving it for the trip to Florida with my mother next week, because I'm sure I'll need a laugh or two. Also, warm socks from Alaska with POLAR BEARS ON THEM. And a polar bear keychain that I might have to put on my work keys so that I can just jingle it when someone is annoying me and know that I'm really calling them a polar bear :) oh, oh, and SOAP. Beautiful handmade soaps in sweet nectar and honey, oats, and creme that smell really good. THANK YOU DREW!!!!!!!

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's been up since this morning. I should have posted that in Press.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I have only 2 and a half weeks left of work and my boss has finally decided to start planning for me being gone, even though I've been trying to do this with her for over a month. Trying not to stress. So annoying. Especially when she's asking me to do things that we already agreed she would handle (like telling a team I recently started supporting that I'm going to be gone for 5 months). Argh. Is not cool to do this to a 9 months PG woman who is already totally uncomfortable and who could realistically pop at any moment. It's not like she hasn't known this was coming...

Also, happy belated b-day to Emeline! Five years old. That is just crazy talk.
