Harvey seems to think that anything he sees mommy (or daddy) eating, he needs to try. He loves mushrooms, green beans, carrots, and I have seen him eat asparagus. Also, bread. As in, when we go grocery shopping, we have to put the bread away first, because if we put the meat away first, he'll tear open the bread and start eating it. As in, I can't leave a ziplock bag of "Amish Friendship Bread" starter on the counter to grow, because he will eat it. Sammie, OTH, is only interested in meat. She loves chicken.
Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Gracie is a fiend for asparagus. She likes cauliflower and all kinds of greens too. Weirdo.
I had a cat a long time ago who was crazy for honeydew melon. And peas.
Cats is weird.
Both my cats scorn all human food, even meat. Leo will eat rubber bands and styrofoam, though, if he gets the chance. Which he doesn't, anymore, ever. Idiot cat. Percy will stalk french fries and bread crust pieces, but he only gnaws on them when he catches them and then wanders away. Then I have to kill the poor things.
Oh yeah, rubber bands.I haven't been able to have those in the house for years. Both the dog and current cat could sniff them out like crazy.
Amarna used to shun all human food, except that she loves to lick the lid of any macaroni or potato salad containers, as well as Ben & Jerry pints. Then, I decided to give her a little pinch of Brown's fried chicken (the chicken part, not the fried coating), and that was it--whenever I bring it home now, she thinks the entire piece is hers.
I try really hard not portray or endorse traditional gender roles with Emeline. Most of the ones that she has are pretty typical developmentally and don't have a lot to do with what she's been taught or has witnessed or has been exposed to.
But.
I honestly never thought that I would be trolling the interwebs for an educational skeleton for a 5 year old girl.
ALL OF THE MAC WILL BE MINE. And probably Jilli's. Cause she will beat me with her parasol, otherwise.
Thanks for the job~ma, Omnis and Shir. I'm trying not to get my hopes up.
Cats and food: When I was growing up, our cat, Isabella, decided she really wanted to try corn-on-the-cob. She jumped on the table and swiped the piece my mom was eating out of her hands and onto the floor. Then I had two cats who loved cantelope, although they mostly licked it, rather than eat.
Fern, get your hopes up a little bit! Have the confidence that it could be yours. Especially when you interview. And when you get the job, do not fall asleep when reading up on PAL card. Oy that stuff is boring. Thank you state of CA for making something fun (spending money) so boring and complicated.
ION- I think I might have pulled a minor medical coup. I had the brilliant idea to contact the local MDA clinic and ask if there are any PCP's that are MDA knowing. Well. It turns out my new employer is the closest clinic (sweet!), and the head of the clinic gave me 3 names to choose from. First choice wasn't taking new patients, but second was! The sad part is, I came up with this brilliant idea after I filled out the benefits info, and picked the HMO that she doesn't accept. Luckily I'm still within my first month, so I can still change my mind. I just can't do it online easy.
