Illyria: We cling to what is gone. Is there anything in this life but grief? Wesley: There's love. There's hope...for some. There's hope that you'll find something worthy...that your life will lead you to some joy...that after everything...you can still be surprised. Illyria: Is that enough? Is that enough to live on?

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I don't think Top Model shows (if they're anything like the American one) have any interest in broadening anything. It's just not what they do. Even the "petite cycle" wound up with a winner taller than a past winner. Eh.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I went to the oral surgeon, who said that one of my wisdom teeth needs to come out now, and two others might cause problems later and he left it up to me whether to take them out now or wait and see. I took the wait and see option. Now I've got to decide whether I want nitrous oxide plus novocaine or just novocaine. I think I'm leaning toward the nitrous oxide. Tooth is coming out tomorrow morning.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Hil, Go Nitrous! Choose Nitrous! You won't regret it.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Hil, when it comes to surgery and pain, FEWER drugs are not the answer!

Now tagless for your comfort.

I had Nitrous when I had my molars out and I can tell you that the process is NOT easy. The pain is only half the trauma when they're working on those large teeth. There is a lot of yanking, pulling, digging, etc. It's all a haze to me, thanks to the nitrous. I think I would have less pleasant memories without it.

Happy Birthday, Princess Emeline!

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I think I just got general anesthetic. I was completely out and didn't feel or remember a thing.

I think I'm getting the nitrous. I said no to the IV sedation, though -- in addition to being a bit wary of having that done anywhere other than a hospital, I know that I react really badly to IVs -- I tend to sit there the entire time with "Get this thing out of my arm! Get it out out out!" screaming through my head, no matter how much pain is going on elsewhere.

OMG, JACQUELINE, MAKE ME STEP AWAY FROM SALON LETTERS WHERE PEOPLE ARE BEING RETARDED ABOUT POLANSKI!!!!!

(Have opinions, fine. Have utterly retarted opinoions. But know the basic facts of the thing. You DID learn "innocent until proven guilty" from School House Rock when you were eight. Good onya! It has nothing to do with this. Know what a deal is, who can make it, and who can decide not to honor it. And for fuck's sake, quit saying "she'd had sex with her boyfriend!" Non-virgins arent' fair game here, haven't been for a long long time. Neither are kids pimped by their mothers. Why are you babbling about the arbitraryness of age of consent laws? OH PLEASE SHUT UP. Go write for Faux news. And stay away from my kids.)

Herding cats for fun

Hellllooo, everybody. Here I am, putting off Making Dinner (more turkey sandwiches, oboy!) to self-referentially post that I have had a fabulous Thanksgiving, have cleaned up the yard and decorated the tree, found ways around my laundry hanging problem.

Also I got hugged by some of my other neighbors today. I walked across the street and pitched in when the neighbor ladies were helping my neighbor deal with an incredibly overgrown patch of trees (four. I counted four.) that was making it hard to pull out of the driveway.

I have to admit, I am much more likely to be hugged than complained on, so, hey: reason to be thanksful! Plus I have my buddies over here in cyberspace, too.

Dissertation: Awesome. Emeline five? Already???
