In meme new, I am in excruciating pain. I moved my neck weirdly while sitting at my desk and pinched something, and now I can barely turn my head. I've taken three Motrin and it hasn't touched the pain. I wish I could leave right now, but I'm supposed to sub last period and I'm supposed to turn in my contract at 2:30 if I haven't gotten a call from the other school by then, so I'm kind of stuck. But OMG the pain.
ETA: Worked it out with admin. Leaving now. Can't make it the rest of the day.

Today, my advisor was supposed to watch me practice the talk that I'm going to give at the campus interview, and also discuss some questions I had about my dissertation. He never showed up.

Let's see, I have 25 minutes to do my bulleted list of accomplishments for the year or I have to take it home. Yeah. That's not happening. Oh, performance self-evaluations, you suck so freaking bad. I was particularly annoyed at him not showing up because he'd told me to reserve the seminar room, and I reserved the room and set up the projector and everything, and then just sat around waiting. If there had been some other people to present to, I would have, but most of the other grad students went to Six Flags today, so the only one around was one of my officemates, who had to leave before I would have finished anyway. New plan is gathering some grad students to present to sometime next week, so that I'll have some practice in front of a group.
