This is not funny. This... this is a morality tale about the evils of sake.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

On Friday, when I made the service call on the heat pump, we agreed on the phone the problem was probably the blower. I called yesterday morning to tell them the cause was definitely the blower, since it was now a stinking lump of melted metal. The person on the phone said, "Well, you've got the service call." The guy who just arrived had no idea about the blower and doesn't have the part. The temperatures are going back into the 80s, and what little tolerance I used to have for heat has been removed by the medication I'm on.

The status is NOT quo.

At least your president seems like a fairly good bloke. Cameron... isn't. Oh, sod it. I'm moving to America.

Let us not forget the time we didn't know who the new president was for, oh, three months, give or take. That was classic.

And in terms of us having a decent bloke in office, we have a lot of catching up to do after the previous eight years.

Coffee (which I desperately need right now):

Epic, yes, still waiting for a definitive answer, but I'm not holding my breath. No one ever responded when I emailed letting them know that I have a Friday deadline. I'm beginning to wonder if they're just hoping if they ignore me I'll go away.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Anyone else been hit on by a total stranger on Facebook? I got this friend request from some random guy saying he's looking for friends or something.

I've gotten random friend requests sometimes, and I usually ignore them. Just now, coincidentally, I got an odd one. This woman met me briefly at the VM Alamo Drafthouse event years ago and thought I was sweet (I have no memory of this, as I met a LOT of people that weekend), and she noticed me among a mutual friend's friends and wanted to add me. I'm not going to accept it, since I don't know who she is, but I feel bad just hitting that Ignore button. It feels mean! But I suppose sending a message explaining that I don't remember her would be meaner.

People seem to remember me more than I remember them. I've experienced the opposite too, but I always feel bad when I don't remember someone.

Compassionately intolerant

In I'm a grown up, no really, I am news, I implemented my brand new renter's insurance policy today. Ended up with State Farm (but, Vortex, it turns out SE can't write in the District, so I had to go with someone her office recommended.) as they were the most responsive and followed through better than the other companies I canvased.

I don't have expensive stuff...really, I don't. But, as I look around at the books, and furniture and such, I wonder if it can all be replaced for $49,500. ($500 deductible) Here's hoping I never have to find out, eh?

In response to the neighbor's fire, a friend bought a fireproof safe and offered me a shelf for my important stuff. So kind. I'm totally taking her up on it!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't get FB friending. Is it really that much of a popularity contest that people I've never met would try and friend me without even a comment about what they were thinking? So very weird. But it would happen a fair amount. But I haven't been active on FB for forever, so everyone's ignored, pretty much.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I got the feeling that you don't want to start the "Who has the worst PM" contest.

I survive merely by mostly ignoring the set of my government, and constantly cursing it in the times I remember it.

On the plus side (AND WITHOUT JINX IT DAMMIT), it's been over a year since Netanyahu was elected and we didn't drag the world into a global war, as I suspected he'll manage to do in that period of time. And the party I voted for did get one more seat - which put them on 3 out of 120 seats in total.

At least you have a sane choice. I can count on one hand the MKs I'm trusting on this government. That, and daydreaming the day Shelly Yachimovich or Tamar Gozansky will be elected as a PM here.

I figure 50k will be enough that I can mostly refurning and reclothe myself, and the rest will handle itself somehow.

I have very little that I'm enough attached to that I wouldn't welcome the excuse, quite frankly. (Not to make like of how traumatic I know it would be.)

I am ita, awesome! That means I can kill people with my pinky, right?

I view FB as a necessary evil that I keep forgetting to log into.
