Noted and done. And ouch.
I'm so glad I don't live in a 3rd floor walk-up any more. That climb would have sucked.
Spike ,'Sleeper'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Ouchies, Calli. Swift healing to your ankle.
Is it swelling a lot, calli? Because that means a sprain and is NOT GOOD. If it is tender and sore but not swelling, it could be a strain, which is also not good, but in a lesser way.
Thanks, y'all.
It hadn't swelled much before I put the ace bandage on it, and there were a good 15-20 minutes between falling and getting my ankle elevated. I've gone a couple rounds with ice and downed some ibuprofen and now it's gone from profanity-inducing to just sore—at least as long as I don't take it off the pillows. I'll unwrap it before it's time for another dose of drugs and see how it's going.
I've got some great localistas, though (as well as very kind buffistae). One neighbor picked me up, brought me home, got all the ice/bandages/pills/random stuff, and is taking on my dog sitting duties. Amyth, from all the way up in NY State, told me where to find crutches if I need them. I have offers for store runs and etc. Basically, if I didn't need to go to the bathroom I could lie here until my ankle healed completely.
My cat seems to have a cold ( I have a vet appoitment for monday ) poor thing keeps sneezing. He is eating , and interested in things but cranky because he is not getting enough sleep.
Thanks for the birthday wishes. We have had a packed holiday. Got in to Hot Springs around four am, did TG with Mr. Jane's fam and some friends who came up from Dallas. Went out to an old gangster bar downtown for my birthday. Friday morning I woke up to learn my in-laws BOUGHT US A FREAKING CAR! We got them Beatles Rock Band so we played that before going out to a piano bar where we were treated to an impromptu concert featuring holiday songs and showtunes. Today, we hang at the house and then go to father-in-law's mom's for dinner. Headed back to Dallas tomorrow afternoon. It has been amazing.
Wow! That is a whole lot of very cool, Daisy.
I didn't even tell y'all about the bacon cheddar popcorn.
Or the fact that I'm posting this from my brand new android phone.
Ok. I'll stop.
Ouch, Calli! Feel better soon!
Happy Birthday (belated?), Daisy!
x-post from Natter:
Hivemind etiquette question. We're finalizing wedding invitations, and we're trying to be sure it's very clear that people should go to the website for all the important info. Right now, we have the tag, "FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE WEDDING AND EAST AND WEST COAST RECEPTIONS, PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITE: [website address]" (ignore asscaps--it makes sense in the font). ND says he keeps getting questions about the registry and would like to specifically mention that there's a link to registry info on the website, but I'm twitchy about it because I was always taught that directly mentioning one's registry in the invitation is tacky and makes us sound like we are asking for gifts--which really is not at all the point. That's why our first registry link is to charities. Still, I get what ND is saying, and I know that finding the registry is always important for me when I'm going to a wedding. What do you all think?
