[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I have found that a little chicken broth will encourage an animal to drink. Is the water supposed to be okay to drink boiled?

Middle Tennessee is getting some serious flooding. My mom hasn't had power all day and it doesn't look it will be back anytime soon. She and my sister are not happy.

Thrive to spite them

I hope you can get Toto to drink soon.

So, I was checking my medicine bags tonight and realized after tonight's dose I have 2 more bags. Which is enough for tomorrow.

Only I was told I was supposed to be doing this for 8 days starting Wednesday, which puts me with iv treatments until Thursday. So now I have to call the Homehealth place and ask why I'm missing medicine.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Gah! This is SO CLOSE to the job I want, down to the organization and program, but it's a little too high up and managerial. [link]

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

smonster, that is so incredibly you. You need to figure out a way to position yourself to meet the requirements.

FWIW, I'm deeply involved in LEED and EnergyStar as it applies to corporate occupiers and can access info on how it affects owners/investors. Will be more than happy to feed you anything I can that might help.

Well, part of the problem is that I'm not quite qualified, but part is that I don't want that position. I want something lower on the totem pole, actually doing work, maybe an assistant crew manager or something.

And thanks! I will keep that in mind.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

smonster, you would be VERY WRONG not to at least try for that job. And you wouldn't want wee Frankie to grow up in a home with a delinquent mama, now would you?

(edit in reference to followup post: never mind, if you don't actually want it. But I'll be wishing for the actual right job to come up. Or for this one to be tweakable for more hands-on, less managerial stuff.)

Oh yeah, if it's not quite what you want that's different. But the offer stands.

Thanks, y'all.

I'm chatting with B and he just wrote the loveliest intro email for me to the warehouse manager over there. Gah. Crush continues unabated.

Smonster, I really don't see why you shouldn't apply. it might be a little too high up, but they may be willing to hire you as is, or even for another position.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I'd say, apply for the job, smonster. If nothing else, look at it as an opportunity to practice your interview skills, and also a chance to make the acquaintance and do a little networking with those people.

vw, do you feed Toto only dry food? If not, it is really easy to mix a fair bit of water in with some canned food. You could even put some chicken broth over kibble. When we were in the desert, once in a while one of the cats would get overheated, panting and whatnot. So I would take some put bouillion in ice water for them to drink. I would also wipe them down with a cool, wet, washcloth to bring the body temp. down a bit.
