First of all, 'Posse?' Passé

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Sox, glad you had a good time.

I have stopped with the productivity, I think. Though, I did track down the beeping before collapsing with ice cream. I think it's tv/wind-down time.

Yeah, I don't know how much more I have in me. Want another day off, waaaaaahhh. And in addition to my regular hours, I'll be working Thursday and Friday nights and Saturday all day, so I won't be accomplishing much next weekend. Phooey. Sunday I'm going to my folks for Mother's Day/Mom's birthday, so nothing then, either. They are insisting I bring Frankie, btw.

Speaking of the pup, we found a baby bird in the road, alive, on our walk. Didn't see a nest anywhere near so I just moved it off the road. Maybe at least it'll be a meal for an owl, instead of just roadkill.

I think I might have to light a candle. And eat some chocolate. I blame you all. And by blame, I mean love.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

I'll have to admit at this stage that I have no idea whatsoever what Route 66 is
As mentioned, it was the first major highway across America. It's also been decommissioned, so no longer official. The original roadways have been reused in sections for interstate roads (4-8 lane divided highways), or access roads, or part of main streets of towns, or just left to nature to reclaim. So following the path isn't easy.

With that, today's progress was poor. I went from Clinton, OK to Erick, OK. Only about 60 miles as the crow flies. I probably did a bit more with the back tracking and stuff. I did visit TWO Route 66 Museums. That's what ate up the bulk of the time. One in Clinton, which was rather good, the other was in Elk City, and it was kinda blah. The first was well designed, with a logical flow, timeline, good historic props, arranged well, with informational blurbs everywhere. The second was more of a "we recreated a historic town of Elk City", only the recreations were not consistent in time period, from station to station, and within stations. It peeved me. Didn't spend anything at that gift store. Looks like I missed the Timber Creek Bridge. :: pout :: I really needed a navigator today. I spent more time on I-40 than I would have liked. I thought I was turning onto the service road that runs parallel, but alas, it was a long entrance ramp. Tomorrow I'll hit the the Sand Hills Curiosity Shop in the AM, and then cross back into Texas. Hopefully stop for the Punch Bug and Cadillac Ranches, and keep going.

So, I'm actually a little worried about Toto. He has barely drank any water since the I switched him over to bottled. And it is HOT here today. It got up to like 88, and it was even hotter in the apartment what with the hours and hours of boiling water all afternoon. He's panting a lot, and he'll go take one sip then stop. I brought water into the bedroom for tonight. He went over and sniffed it and walked away. And I know he's thirsty. He's panting.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

My cats won't drink bottled water, either. I think they don't like the smell of plastic.

Which actually kinda makes me wonder if I should be drinking it, either, but then again, my cats won't drink alcohol, so my choices are already suspect. (At least, I assume they won't drink alcohol. I've yet to offer them a cocktail.)

vw, that's worrisome indeed. I don't know, pour some kind of meat juice in there, maybe?

amyth linked me to the hipster puppies tumblr and it's pretty damn funny. [link]

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I think I might have to light a candle. And eat some chocolate. I blame you all.

You're welcome. I love you too, babe. And aim to be an influence of awesome (fire pretty) for all.

Chicken stock, tuna juice... anything smelly that he likes. Don't know if it will work or not.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

vw, will he eat ice cubes? Our dogs think they're getting a treat when we toss them cubes.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

We had one of those weekends where we actually did everything we were planning to. I mean, when does THAT ever happen? Got all the plants we bought yesterday into the pots and moved some others, plus pruned all the shaggy-ass bushes. Then we came in and organized both closets. Got two huge bags of stuff for Goodwill, plus one more bag to throw away. I feel that we almost lived up to msbelle standards!

Now to take a bath and finish The Girl Who Played With Fire. then we are ordering in Thai. Nom.
