Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

Spike ,'Conversations with Dead People'

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

“Not dead yet!”

Barb, did you SEE the Heartbroken video? Nakey Johnny arms. Oh me oh my - and I know how you love his arms.

Oh, Johnny, I'm so proud of you-- didn't think you would ever do subtle. Which is much harder than gaudy, as we well know. I only regret that it was to Russian elevator music played on a Yamaha piano. I'd recognize that tinny upper register anywhere. *sigh*

But his arms. Oh my, his arms.

If Johnny bites you, you turn fabulous during the full moon.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

The job offer I got yesterday is not yet official, because the vice president of the university has not signed off on it yet, but it should be official on Monday. Meanwhile, two more schools want to interview me. One of them is a significantly better job than the current offer, so I'm scheduling that interview.

Also, scotch is nice. Well, it's nice when it's mixed with some club soda or seltzer or whatever that was. It burns my mouth straight.

It's so awful to have your card rejected, we just wanted to spare you the dreadful psychic pain!

Never mind there are plenty of reasons a card can be rejected that have nothing to do with your balance. I've had them reject multiple times because there's a chance of a security breach or we've made a couple of unusual purchases and the CC company shuts down the account until they confirm they were legit.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Congrats to job-offer-having Buffistas! Wishing you good luck with future interviews and many jobs to be torn between, Hil.

More moving/unpacking good wishes to omnis and meara!

Thanks to everyone sending good wishes for The Girl's father. Apparently he's been flirting with nurses in his drugged-up state. This can only be a good sign.

~ma for Max.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

Have not been exactly *there*, Sean, but I've been on the Funny Money train. I borrowed that from Terry McMillian, actually...one of her goofy sister characters says "My money is *too* funny. Again."

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Those fees and some other bank shennanigans are why we quit BofA and go to a small local bank chain now, and use another for savings.

I remember being really upset over those two overdrafts because on the bank statement there was never a point at which a negative balance showed up, it only showed the balance not the available balance. Turned out the check cleared on the same day as the overdrafts, just later. My own fault for not making sure, but frustrating when you can't actually see it in the records.

Hey, cool. CNN article about vegan bake sales. [link] I think at least half the people mentioned are people I've at least talked to online. I'm apparently part of the vegan bake sale in-crowd. I had no idea.

I haz Chinese food. Yum. Well, except the szechuan green beans, which are kind of ick. Lots of rice, which will probably absorb some of the scotch. Need to shower to get rid of the scotch that I spilled on my leg.
