Dawn: Is that supposed to scare me? Spike: Little tremble wouldn't hurt.

'The Killer In Me'

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

YAY, Hil!!!

Good job, Stephanie!

I was very organized in class today -- that's my good news.

Making progress. Procrastinating too much. Blargh.

Congrats Hil! Glad the inteview went well Stephenie.

I need Buffista advice. A friend's birthday is coming up and I have an option I did not last year - Trader Joe's. What is a good red wine (or any way not white) wine to get him for under 20 dollars? I presume the home of two-buck chuck can offer something birthday appropriate for 20? There is also a Cost Plus nearby.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Different stores tend to have different stocks, Typo. But I've found that their staff is always amazingly helpful and under $20 should get you an excellent gift.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Congrats Hil! And congratulations to Stephanie too.

sj, how long have you been on the steroids already? And I clearly need to catch up with you. What pain are you experiencing? Because long-term steroid usage can cause pain.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Yay for all the good news of brilliant peoples and oatmeal!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

My advisor's first comment when I told him about the job was, "Have you seen Deliverance?" But he did say congratulations, too.

I'm going to spend tomorrow sorting through my files to see which jobs I haven't heard from yet. I'm pretty sure that everything that I've still got out is roughly comparable to this one -- some might be in locations I like a little better, but they're all at about the same level -- but I just want to make sure that there aren't any that I haven't heard from yet that are much better jobs that I have a chance at.

One of my officemates got his masters at another university near here that has a much better math reputation than mine. He said that the people who graduated there two years ago pretty much all got jobs or postdocs at really good schools. Of the 12 or so people there graduating this year, only three or four have any job yet.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Oh, hardy-ha-fucking-ha.
